Dear Lovely Yuletide Person,

Happy Yuletide! This is all so very exciting!

You'll have seen from my sign up what my requests are, but just to recap:

Simon Feximal Series by KJ Charles
Characters: Jo Caldwell and Sam Caldwell

I do really ship these two, so I'd love something romantic, but if you don't want to go there then please, please reunite them! I just want them to be together again, I hate that by the time Spectred Isle comes around they're still apart.

I'd really like something that explores Jo's gender as much as possible too, so please feel free to go into that as deeply as you want since that's one of the things that draws me to them so much.

The Dreamer trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
Characters: Adam Parrish and Ronan Lynch

Honestly, I'm completely and embarrassingly obsessed with Adam Parish, I just love him so much. And Ronan too of course but Adam! My brave little bi child!

I'd love a slice of life or an outside POV or what happens to them between the end of Greywaren and the epilogue just... anything. I'd really love anything that explores their friendships with Gansey and Blue and Henry too, or more about Adam's magic. Also Noah! Justice for Noah!

I've read everything so don't worry about spoilers!

Blood-Smoke series by Tanya Huff
Characters: Tony Foster and Lee Nicholas

I'd love post book 3 when they're an established couple. Lee coming out (either to the world or to his family or just to the Darkest Night guys) would be particularly great, as would Tony meeting Lee's family or Lee meeting Vicki and Mike.

Some Overall Do Not Wants. Please please don't write me any of the following because I won't be able to read it: rape, non-con, Daddy kink, contagious illness no matter how mild, unhappy or ambiguous endings.

I'd rather not have anything totally AU since these fandoms all have such little fic, but wibbling the canon slightly is fine. Also I'd prefer no cross-overs or fusions unless it makes total sense (like, Jo and Sam meeting other KJ Charles characters? Fine! Great! Unexpected idk Pacific Rim fusion? No thanks).

Now for wants! I just really love people being friends, and people bring in love with their friends. I love mutual support, found family, exes to lovers, friends to lovers, resolved pining, h/c and people protecting each other. I love, love things that explore all the nuances or sexuality and gender. I also love outside POVs.

I don't mind what rating you write, though I don't really want to read nothing but porn. I'm a big fan of exploring kink and D/s, if it fits the characters, but would be just as happy with PG rated.

comments

Hello Lovely Yuletide Friend!

Requests:

1) The Price of Meat by KJ Charles - Mark Ingestrie and Elias Jeffery.
2) Simon Feximal Series by KJ Charles - Jo Caldwell and Sam Caldwell
3) Justified - Tim Gutterson

Thank you so much for writing me a story! I am very easy to please, I promise.

In terms of general things I like: found family, romantic friendships, romance in general, tropes (love tropes!), D/s-overtones in bed, hurt/comfort as long as there's lots of comfort, coming out stories, action/adventure, slice of life...

There are a few things that I hard do not want, and those are: unhappy endings, ambiguous endings, character death, dub/non-con, and most especially contagious illnesses.

I'm happy with any rating at all, but I'd rather not have something that's all sex and nothing else. Oh and if possible, I'd rather not have random cross-over/fusions (unless it makes total sense in that fandom).

But whatever you write, I'm sure I'm going to love it!
Dear Yuletide Author,

Hi! Hello! This is exciting!

So I thought I'd give you some general likes and dislikes and then tell you some things I particularly like about the fandoms I've requested. But if those don't tie in with what you want to write, then just ignore me. I'd rather have something you want to write than something you wrote to please me.

Likes:
So I lovvvvve pining and friendship and found families. I just really like stories where people like each other. I love established relationship but also I adore first times. I'm a massive fan of D/s and virginity fic. I like it when people cry and are comforted; I like it when people are closeted and scared... and are comforted. Do you see the theme?

In fact, I keep a list in gdocs of things I like. It goes like this:

1) Friendship
2) Affection
3) People knowing secrets
4) Pining
5) Sad and closeted
6) Exes getting back together

Dislikes:
So non/dub-con and illnesses are a hard no for me. I also don't like unhappy or ambiguous endings. In fact I think I dislike ambiguous endings even more than unhappy ones. Please don't break anyone up or make anyone think that their friends don't like them, because then I'll cry. You don't want me to cry on Christmas morning, right?

Fandoms:

At Swim, Two Boys - so I saw the musical of this (Rebel Song) the other month and completely re-fell in love with this whole story. The reason I requested Jim and Anthony is that I find their relationship fascinating and I'd love to know what happens to them post-canon.

The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue - well, I'm easy here. I'd LOVE to know what Monty and Percy get up to next, but if you wanted to write me something pre-canon when their pining idiots at play, that would also be super cool.

Know Not Why - love this book! What happens next for Howie and Arthur and the shop?

Prosperity - ahhh, Byron Kae my forever favourite darling. I'd love to know more about their life with Piccadilly. They consider themselves married but what does that mean for them? Tell me about their romance!

Society of Gentlemen - I adore every single one of the heroes of these books, but Ash and Francis are my absolute favourite. Tell me about their cosy domestic life, tell me how Ash gets on after... what happens at the end of book 3. Also, does his friend Freddy EVER twig about their relationship?

comments

Hi, dreamwidth / livejournal! How are you? Did you have a good Christmas / New Year?

I was terrible at updating here with... anything last year, but especially terrible about announcing new fics. So here, at least, is a list of the fics I posted in 2015, if anyone is still around / interested:

If Home Is Where You Are - Enjolras/Grantaire and Courfeyrac/Jehan - Les Misérables (2892 words)

Never Be Satisfied - lady!Enjolras/lady!Grantaire - Les Misérables (15156 words)

A Kiss For Luck and We're On Our Way - Enjolras/lady!Grantaire - Les Misérables (2487 words)

Let's Do Something That's All The Way - Enjolras/Grantaire - Les Misérables (4580 words)

See It Burn When You Bring Me Sunlight - Enjolras/Grantaire - Les Misérables (3319 words)

Blown Here By The Winds Of Chance - genderqueer!Jehan/Courfeyrac - Les Misérables (21049 words)

Don't It Always Seem To Go - Lee Nicholas/Tony Foster - Smoke Series - Tanya Huff (5004 words)

And Not So Long Ago - Aaron Livesy/Robert Sugden - Emmerdale (1403 words)

comments

Happy New Year, gang!

Yuletide happened and for me it all happened within one fandom, which is particularly lovely.

My lovely Yule person wrote me Lee Nicholas and his plans to Feed Tony and Come Out, which was awesome:

Tomorrow (1376 words) by kikibug13
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Blood-Smoke Series - Tanya Huff, Smoke Series - Tanya Huff
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Tony Foster/Lee Nicholas
Characters: Lee Nicholas, Tony Foster
Additional Tags: Coming Out, Food
Summary:
Lee has decided to actually come out. In public. He has all the arguments for it, too. And Tony's not exactly in the best state to shoot the thought down... but maybe, he'd admit, it's not such a bad idea.

And I also wrote Lee/Tony this year (again):

Didn't Have You Where I Come From (14864 words) by torakowalski
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Blood-Smoke Series - Tanya Huff, Smoke Series - Tanya Huff
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Tony Foster/Lee Nicholas, background Amy/Jack Elson
Characters: Jack Elson, Amy (Smoke Series), Zev Sero, Leah Burnett, Henry Fitzroy, Mike Celluci, Lee Nicholas, Tony Foster, Original Characters
Additional Tags: Coming Out, Post-Canon, Lee's Family, Supernatural Creatures, Mild Child Endangerment
Summary:
Tony really didn't want to go home or deal with the rest of the world, not when he could stay in bed with Lee all day. Unfortunately, the rest of the world had other ideas.

comments

Dear Yuletide Person,

Thank you so much for writing me a story! Please don't feel stressed, as long as you enjoy writing whatever you write then I'm sure I'll love reading it.

Things I like in fic: first times, happy endings, angst with happy endings, schmoop with happy endings (are you sensing a pattern?), obliviousness, pining, slow reveals and friendship.

Things I don't like in fic: unhappy endings, death and non-con. I also don't like humiliation or and I have an embarrassment squick a mile wide.

I'm fine with porn or no porn, whatever you're more comfortable with. I got to throw a million tropes in and wrote it all in about two weeks.

Most fun story to write:

All I've Got Left To Believe In because it's a high school AU featuring PETER PARKER. What could be more fun?

Story with the single sexiest moment:

I really like the part in Break The Sound And Change The Season (the virgin!Clint fic) where Clint and Phil have early morning makeouts and Clint ALMOST but doesn't blow him.

Story that got the most unexpected reaction from readers:

Back To The Place That You Are is a uniform kink fic written for kink_bingo. I'd forgotten it existed but SUDDENLY everyone started telling me how much they liked it. I don't actually have a uniform kink, so that was very nice to know.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:

Well, in Same Old Tricks In A Brand New Town I wrote Phil getting a blowjob under his desk while chatting to Melinda May. Sort of.

Hardest story to write:

Hitch A Ride On The Back Of The Butterfly, the female!Phil one took me forever. Writing something canon adjacent was way more of a struggle than I was expecting.

Most unintentionally telling story:

My Yuletide fic, Like A Sail's Force Into The Night, proved to me that Jemma Simmons is essentially ME but with a few more degrees.

What's next:

Ooh so many things! My to write list currently looks like this: 3 fandom aid fics; a C/C con artist AU; a sequel to the HS AU fic with accidental kink-discovery; amnesia fic where Clint forgets they've broken up... And probably quite a lot besides.

comments
